Westcombe-Evans scores four in Lightning win
Gloucester-Hartpury powered past Trailfinders Women to clinch top spot in the Allianz Premiership Women's Rugby table as they stay unbeaten.

Saracens then consolidated second spot with a huge victory away to third-placed Exeter Chiefs.

On Saturday, Loughborough Lightning came out on top of a rollercoaster game at Harlequins to pull clear of them in the table.

Gloucester-Hartpury 59-12 Trailfinders Women

Kingsholm

Gloucester-Hartpury laid down a marker with a convincing win over Trailfinders Women at Kingsholm, ensuring that the reigning champions will finish top of the table this season.

Mia Venner and Bethan Lewis each crossed twice, with Gloucester-Hartpury scoring nine tries in total.

They were in total control by half-time, with five tries from five different try-scorers, including Emma Sing, who had also kicked four conversions.

Neve Jones got the ball rolling early, with Sing and then Sarah Beckett extending the lead. Maud Muir and Lewis then added two more before half-time for a 33-0 lead at the break.

They continued to attack in the second half, with Venner crossing twice either side of a score for Cerys Hale to bring up a half-century.

Trailfinders responded through Amanda McQuade and Rosie Inman but Gloucester-Hartpury had the final word with Lewis scoring her second.

Exeter Chiefs 7-57 Saracens

Sandy Park

Saracens secured their first-ever win at Sandy Park in emphatic fashion to strengthen their hold on second place.

The visitors hit the front in just the second minute and never let up, scoring six tries without reply by half-time.

Sydney Gregson burst through a gap for the opener after 92 seconds, her effort converted by Zoe Harrison.

Donna Rose then powered over from close range before Coreen Grant added a third.

The third try was made by Sarah McKenna, who then got on the scoresheet herself with an intercept for the fourth.

Gregson notched a second after being found by Ella Wyrwas, who crossed herself for the sixth of the half right before the break, a fourth conversion from Harrison making it 38-0.

McKenna was instrumental in setting up a second for Wyrwas before Exeter got on the board through Katie Buchanan.

But it was Saracens who finished the stronger, with a second for McKenna and a final try for Bryony Field.

Four tries from Bo Westcombe-Evans saw Loughborough Lightning defeat Harlequins 38-19

The winger gave the hosts the lead at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens as she chased down her own kick to score.

Emma Wassell moved Lightning further ahead in the 17th minute before Jessie Spurrier carried Quins over the line for her first try in the PWR.

Carys Phillips then worked her way from the back of the maul to move Harlequins into the lead for the first time.

After the break, Lightning hit the front again as Westcombe-Evans got her second but Emily Scarratt’s missed conversion meant the lead was only three.

Ella Cromack took advantage, using width to put Quins ahead only for Loughborough to finally pull away with two more tries from Westcombe-Evans before Scarratt converted her own score to round off a perfect afternoon in Northampton.

Bristol Bears 62-24 Leicester Tigers

Ashton Gate

Bristol Bears moved to within a point of Exeter Chiefs in the table as they secured maximum points in a 62-24 win over Leicester Tigers.

Bears managed five tries in each half, with Keira Bevan crossing twice in the opening 40 minutes and Ella Lovibond doing the same in the second on the occasion of her 50th appearance for the club.

Red Roses hooker Amy Cokayne crossed twice for Tigers, who earned a bonus point in defeat.

Bears made a strong start as Bevan broke the deadlock with a clever dummy, but Cokayne responded immediately.

The game opened up after half an hour, with Millie David and then Simi Pam allowing Bristol to open up a 19-5 advantage.

Charlotte Fray kept Tigers in touch but Bristol finished the half on fire as Bevan and Rownita Marston-Mulhearn crossed to make it 33-12 at the break.

Natasha Jones got over for Leicester's third try to start the second half, but Bears pulled clear thanks to Lovibond's quickfire double.

And after Cokayne had brought up a bonus point for Tigers, Alisha Butchers and debutant Bobbie Jackson sealed the victory.
