Joyce-Butchers, Marston-Mulhearn, Sing, Goldthorpe and Callender among the stand out stars in PWR Round 4

Round 4 of Premiership Women's Rugby was another edge-of-your-seat journey through the weekend. The games produced an average of ten tries and more than 60 points per match.

Bristol Bears led the way with nine tries at Sale Sharks where Jasmine Joyce-Butchers produced a world-class performance scored two tries, made 23 carries (1st), 230 metres (1st), six clean breaks (1st), and beat eight defenders at the weekend.

As part of Oval Insights PWR Rankings every player is rated and Joyce's performance delivered a 9.1 rating as the Bears moved into the early semi-final spots, taking them to the top of the league's try-scoring charts with an average of seven tries a game.

Gloucester-Hartpury's Emma Sing is our leading points-scorer while Saracens' Zoe Harrison is now our leading kicker with a stunning seven from seven on Sunday while her team-mate May Campbell leads the try-scorers with six.

Sing has also beaten more defenders and carried for more metres than any player in the league while Sara Svoboda and Millie David are top of the offloads charts.

Standout performances at the weekend included:

  • Rownita Marston-Mulhearn (Bristol Bears Women) made more dominant carries (seven) and post-contact metres (36) than any other player at the weekend; she also bear five defenders.
  • Emma Sing and Natasha Hunt (both Gloucester-Hartpury) were the only players who assisted two tries each in Round 4. Sing also beat six defenders, made 122 metres, and scored a try.
  • Fran Goldthorp (Loughborough Lightning) beat a round-high ten defenders at the weekend. She also made the second-most metres (151).
  • Alex Callender (Harlequins Women) made more tackles than any other player in Round 4, a total of 29. She also won two turnovers.
  • Zoe Aldcroft and Neve Jones (both Gloucester-Hartpury) made three dominant tackles apiece at the weekend - more than any other players.
  • May Campbell (Saracens Women) won another three turnovers in Round 4, taking her season total to a league-high eight.
